What Is Amlodipine/Benazepril HCL 2.5/10mg?
Amlodipine/benazepril HCL 2.5/10mg is a prescription capsule containing two blood pressure medicines in one: amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, and benazepril, an ACE inhibitor that reduces substances that tighten blood vessels. Together they help lower blood pressure more effectively than either drug alone for many patients. It is sold under the brand name Lotrel and is usually prescribed when a single medication has not brought blood pressure to goal. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of cardiovascular events such as heart attack and stroke.
