What Is Carvedilol 25mg?
Carvedilol is a beta-blocker that also blocks alpha-1 receptors, which slows the heart rate, relaxes blood vessels, and reduces the heart's workload. It is FDA-approved to treat mild to severe chronic heart failure, high blood pressure (hypertension), and left ventricular dysfunction following a heart attack. Carvedilol is the generic version of the brand-name medication Coreg. It is taken by mouth as a tablet, usually twice daily with food.

Carvedilol 25mg Dosage
Heart failure: start 3.125 mg by mouth twice daily with food; may double every 2 weeks as tolerated to a maximum of 25 mg twice daily (50 mg twice daily if over 85 kg).
Hypertension: start 6.25 mg by mouth twice daily with food; may increase every 1–2 weeks to a maximum of 25 mg twice daily.
Post-MI left ventricular dysfunction: start 6.25 mg by mouth twice daily with food; titrate to a target of 25 mg twice daily as tolerated.
