What Is Leucovorin 25mg?
Leucovorin (also called folinic acid or leucovorin calcium) is an active form of folate, a B vitamin the body needs to make healthy cells. It works by protecting normal cells from the harmful effects of methotrexate and similar drugs that block folic acid, a use often called "leucovorin rescue." It is also prescribed to treat megaloblastic anemia caused by folate deficiency when oral folic acid is not appropriate. Leucovorin is available under the brand name Wellcovorin and requires a prescription.

Leucovorin 25mg Dosage
Leucovorin rescue: 15 mg PO every 6 hours for 10 doses, starting 24 hours after the start of methotrexate infusion.
