What Is Lisinopril 40mg?
Lisinopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that relaxes blood vessels so the heart doesn't have to work as hard. It is prescribed for high blood pressure, heart failure, and to improve survival after an acute heart attack. It works differently from calcium channel blockers such as amlodipine, which is why lisinopril and amlodipine are sometimes prescribed together when one medication alone doesn't control blood pressure. The 40mg tablet is typically the maximum daily maintenance strength.
What Does Lisinopril 40mg Treat?
High blood pressure (hypertension) in adults
High blood pressure in children 6 years and older
