What Is Losartan 25mg?
Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking a hormone that narrows them, which lowers blood pressure. It is FDA-approved to treat hypertension, to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy, and to treat diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes. Because losartan works differently than calcium channel blockers like amlodipine, providers sometimes prescribe losartan and amlodipine together for better blood pressure control. Losartan 25mg tablets are taken by mouth, typically once daily.
What Does Losartan 25mg Treat?

Losartan 25mg Dosage
Hypertension: 50 mg by mouth once daily; usual range 25–100 mg daily in 1–2 doses.
Start 25 mg once daily in patients with volume depletion or hepatic impairment.
Diabetic nephropathy: 50 mg once daily; may increase to 100 mg once daily.
