Tamsulosin HCl is a prescription alpha-1 blocker sold under the brand name Flomax. It works by relaxing smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck, which makes it easier to urinate. It is FDA-approved to treat the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also called an enlarged prostate. Tamsulosin does not shrink the prostate, but it can improve urine flow and reduce bothersome urinary symptoms.

Tamsulosin 0.4mg HCL Dosage
Take 0.4 mg (1 capsule) by mouth once daily, approximately 30 minutes after the same meal each day.
If response is inadequate after 2–4 weeks, the prescriber may increase to 0.8 mg once daily.
