What Is Triamterne-Hydrochlorothiazide 75-50mg?
Triamterene-hydrochlorothiazide 75-50mg is a tablet that combines two diuretics (water pills) in one dose. Hydrochlorothiazide helps the body remove excess salt and water, which can lower blood pressure and reduce swelling, while triamterene helps the body retain potassium that thiazide diuretics can deplete. It is prescribed for people with hypertension or edema who develop low potassium (hypokalemia) on hydrochlorothiazide alone, or in whom low potassium cannot be risked. It is sold under the brand name Maxzide and is related to Dyazide, a lower-strength formulation.
What Does Triamterne-Hydrochlorothiazide 75-50mg Treat?
