What Is Amantadine 100mg?
Amantadine is a prescription medication that works in two distinct ways. As a dopaminergic agent, it helps improve stiffness, tremor, and slowed movement in people with Parkinson's disease and can ease movement side effects caused by certain psychiatric medications. As an antiviral, it can prevent and treat infections caused by influenza A virus, although the CDC no longer recommends it for routine flu treatment due to widespread resistance. It is available as a 100mg oral capsule and is taken by mouth, typically once or twice daily as directed by your prescriber.
