What Is Carbamazepine 200mg?
Carbamazepine is an anticonvulsant medication that works by reducing abnormal electrical activity in the brain and calming overactive nerve signals. It is FDA-approved to treat several types of seizures, including partial seizures and generalized tonic-clonic seizures, as well as the facial nerve pain of trigeminal neuralgia. Carbamazepine is sold under the brand name Tegretol and is also available in an extended-release (carbamazepine ER) form. It is taken as a tablet, usually two or more times daily, and requires regular monitoring by your prescriber.

Carbamazepine 200mg Dosage
Epilepsy: 200 mg by mouth twice daily initially; increase weekly by up to 200 mg/day; usual maintenance 800–1200 mg/day in divided doses.
Trigeminal neuralgia: 100 mg by mouth twice daily initially; increase by up to 200 mg/day as needed; maximum 1200 mg/day.
Take with food if stomach upset occurs; do not stop abruptly.

Contraindicated with a history of bone marrow depression or hypersensitivity to carbamazepine or tricyclic compounds
