What Is Fosfomycin 3g?
Fosfomycin, sold under the brand name Monurol, is an antibiotic that works by interfering with bacterial cell wall production. It is unique among UTI antibiotics because it is typically given as a single 3-gram dose of granules dissolved in water. It is FDA-approved for uncomplicated urinary tract infections (acute cystitis) in women caused by susceptible strains of Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis. Fosfomycin is not indicated for kidney infections (pyelonephritis) or perinephric abscess.

Metoclopramide may lower fosfomycin blood levels and effectiveness
Contact your provider if symptoms do not improve within 2–3 days
