What Is Levothyroxine 125mcg?
Levothyroxine is a synthetic form of thyroxine (T4), the hormone made by the thyroid gland. It is prescribed when the thyroid does not produce enough hormone on its own, a condition called hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine is also used to shrink or manage certain goiters and as part of treatment for some thyroid cancers.
