What Is Montelukast 10mg?
Montelukast is a prescription medication known by the brand name Singulair. It belongs to a class of drugs called leukotriene receptor antagonists, which work by blocking leukotrienes — chemicals in the body that cause airway inflammation, swelling, and tightening. Montelukast is used for the long-term prevention of asthma symptoms, relief of allergic rhinitis (hay fever) symptoms, and prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction. It is not a rescue medication and should not be used to treat a sudden asthma attack.

Montelukast 10mg Dosage
Asthma or allergic rhinitis: Take 1 tablet (10 mg) by mouth once daily. For asthma, take in the evening.
Exercise-induced bronchoconstriction: Take 1 tablet (10 mg) by mouth at least 2 hours before exercise; do not take an additional dose within 24 hours.

Boxed warning: serious neuropsychiatric events, including agitation, depression, and suicidal thoughts or actions, have been reported
Not for the relief of acute asthma attacks — always carry a rescue inhaler
Do not use if allergic to montelukast or any tablet ingredient
Do not abruptly reduce or stop inhaled or oral corticosteroids without provider guidance
Patients with aspirin-sensitive asthma should continue avoiding aspirin and NSAIDs
Tell your provider about all medications, including phenobarbital and rifampin, which may reduce montelukast levels
