What Is Naltrexone 2mg?
Naltrexone is a prescription medication that blocks opioid receptors in the brain. At standard doses, it is FDA-approved for the treatment of alcohol dependence and for blocking the effects of opioids in people who have stopped using them. The 2mg capsule strength, known as Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN), is prescribed at much lower doses than the standard 50mg tablet and is often used off-label under a provider's guidance. Because it works differently at low doses, LDN is being studied for conditions involving pain and inflammation.
