What Is Vancomycin HCL 25mg/mL?
Vancomycin HCL 25mg/mL is an oral antibiotic solution belonging to the glycopeptide class. When taken by mouth, vancomycin stays largely in the gut, where it kills susceptible bacteria in the intestines. It is used to treat diarrhea caused by Clostridioides difficile and enterocolitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus, including methicillin-resistant strains (MRSA). Oral vancomycin is not effective for infections outside the gastrointestinal tract, which require a different route of administration.
