What Is Levothyroxine 75mcg?
Levothyroxine is a man-made version of thyroxine (T4), the main hormone produced by the thyroid gland. When the thyroid is underactive (hypothyroidism), the body cannot make enough of this hormone, which can cause fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance, and other symptoms. Taking levothyroxine daily restores normal hormone levels and helps relieve these symptoms. It is one of the most commonly prescribed medications in the United States and is typically taken long term.

Primary hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
Secondary (pituitary) hypothyroidism
Tertiary (hypothalamic) hypothyroidism

Adults with hypothyroidism: approximately 1.6 mcg/kg by mouth once daily.
Take on an empty stomach, 30–60 minutes before breakfast.
Dose is individualized and adjusted based on TSH lab results.
