It works by reducing the inflammation, redness, scaling, and itching associated with certain skin conditions. The foam formulation spreads easily and is especially useful on hair-bearing areas such as the scalp. Because of its potency, it is intended for short-term use on limited areas of the body under a provider's direction.
What Does Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% Foam Treat?
Inflammation and itching of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses of the scalp
Mild to moderate plaque psoriasis of non-scalp areas (excluding face and skin folds)
Scalp psoriasis
Eczema flare-ups responsive to high-potency steroids (as directed by a provider)
Lichen planus (as directed by a provider)
Other steroid-responsive inflammatory skin conditions (as directed by a provider)
Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% Foam Dosage
Apply a thin layer of foam to affected area(s) twice daily, morning and evening.
Do not exceed 50 g (or 21 capfuls) per week.
Limit treatment to 2 consecutive weeks; do not use with occlusive dressings.

Warnings & Interactions

Can suppress the HPA axis (adrenal function), especially with prolonged use or use over large areas
Do not use for more than 2 consecutive weeks or exceed 50 g per week
Not recommended for patients under 12 years of age
Do not use with occlusive dressings or bandages over treated areas
Avoid contact with eyes; propellant is flammable — avoid fire, flame, and smoking during and right after application
