What Is Estradiol 0.01% Cream?
Estradiol 0.01% Cream is a vaginal cream that contains estradiol, a form of the hormone estrogen. During and after menopause, lower estrogen levels can thin and dry the vaginal tissue, causing irritation, itching, and discomfort during sex. Applying estradiol cream directly to the vaginal area delivers estrogen locally to help restore the tissue. It is available by prescription only and is sold under the brand name Estrace Cream.

Estradiol 0.01% Cream Dosage
Insert 2–4 g intravaginally once daily for 1–2 weeks.
Then gradually reduce to half the initial dose for 1–2 weeks.
Maintenance: 1 g intravaginally 1–3 times per week.

Do not use with a history of blood clots, stroke, or heart attack
Do not use during pregnancy or with known liver impairment
Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration consistent with treatment goals
